Watershed Management Group (WMG) was recently awarded gold-level Bicycle Friendly Business status by the League of American Bicyclists. The League’s bicycle friendly business program recognizes businesses that encourage biking among their employees and customers.
WMG is one of only two businesses in the state of Arizona to receive the prestigious gold designation.
So what makes WMG gold level? They have an in-house bike tune-up service, a loaner bike on site for those days when staff members have to drive but want to ride to a meet- ing or lunch, and an outdoor shower for employees who bike to work on even the hottest of Tucson’s summer days.
WMG even provides financial support to employees who use alternative modes. Full-time staff receive up to $400 annually to help pay for bicycle equipment and repairs, and part-time staff receive up to $200. In addition, staff members who want to get started biking can apply for a one-time ben- efit of $100 to help them purchase a bike or commuting gear.
