Today starts May, that means Happy Bike Month!
– The things you should know on Day 1 –
What is Bike Month:
“May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try.” (http://bikeleague.org/bikemonth)
Why do we care:
Spreading the bicycle community word is a constant element of what makes the bike life so great, but a month like this provides an extra step in sharing that word. It’s a time and a place, the perfect platform to have conversation about the benefits of biking. It’s a great time to talk about the good part of biking and why we should be biking as much as we can, as often as we can. The environmental perks, the bike lifestyle, cool gear, modern gadgets, safety, and more are open topics this month.

And much more, “from fashion shows to group rides, local groups find unique ways to celebrate their diverse bike cultures and community pride.”
And then this ride, oh, yes, you need to see this:
“The greatest force behind CycloFemme are the rides themselves and the people who lead them. You don’t have to quit your day job – you just have to love riding a bike and bringing women together.”
