Home to the 14,000-strong Cascade Bicycle Club, this gold-level Bicycle Friendly City (designated by the League of American Bicyclists) is host to 28 miles of shared-use paths and 90 miles of signed bike routes. Seattle recently launched a bike plan to create 239 miles of new greenways and 102 miles of protected bike lanes. In 2014, Bicycling magazine ranked Seattle as the #8 most bike-friendly city in the U.S.
